Spending Thrift Through Credit Cards

Every college students have their own needs their wants. They vary on their wants through their expenses, and everyday necessities. Because a monthly allowance is not enough to suffice those expenses, most of them apply for part time jobs to make ends meet. Although they are in college, but they already are mature and know how to deal in money matters.

Being mature and wise in making decisions would mean that college kids know how to balance everything, especially when it comes to spending money. That is why lots of student credit cards are being used by college kids these days. It is a perfect tool for them to learn the essence of spending money through their credit cards.

Students who have their own credit cards say that it is now easy to get student credit card. One student, who goes by the pseudonym Carl, shared his experienced when he got his first credit card. He said that at first, a credit card was something to make him look fancy for other college kids. But later on, he realized the importance of a credit card once he saw his bill. “Because of the bill, my life certainly changed after that. I was spending too much that I didn’t consider the consequences that I did. If I could turn back in time, I would have done something different.” So what Carl did was he cut back on his impulse spending and started thinking of saving money. He only uses his credit card on important things.

Another college student, Mary, admitted that she used to spend lavishly on clothes and make-up from her credit card. She only learned her lesson the hard way after she saw how her unpaid balance dues were beginning to get higher and not one of her parents are willing to help her. “I realized that even though it’s easy to get student credit card, but using it is actually different. I didn’t really know what to do with the unpaid balance due, so I had to do something and solve the problem on my own.” Mary had to find ways to earn money to pay for the unpaid debts. She worked part time jobs while struggling in school. After four months of hard work, she finally paid off her debts. She still continued to use her credit card, but for a different reason. “I’m now using it to spend on more important things,” she smiles.

Yes, it’s true that it’s very easy to get student credit card. However, if used for the wrong reasons, then you will have to pay for the consequences in the end. So never do impulse buying and learn how to spend wisely.
