College Finances - Entertaining With That Little Extra You Have
College can be such a droll if you just keep on studying and working part time jobs. The thing is though, you know how much money you will be wasting if you watch movies, drink and hang out with your friends in bars, or have a party in your dorm room or apartment. Well, the good news is that there are a lot of ways you can create means of entertaining yourself, and possibly others too, with that little extra money you have.
If you are a bit of a loner, or you want to spend a little bit of time relaxing, you might want to consider getting a computer. If you choose to buy a desktop, you can save a lot of dollars than purchasing a laptop. But, you would not be able to lug your desktop everywhere with you. A notebook can be carried around to your classes, to the coffee shop, to the library, or to the park.
Whatever type of computer you decide on purchasing, always compare prices of the new models, used models, student discounts and other things. A computer is an investment and you should try to get the best deal as is possible. Also, make sure that you always keep your computer secure. A desktop is harder to steal but a laptop can be easily slipped out from your dorm room, snatched from you on the streets, or taken unobtrusively when you are in a public place.
There are a lot of great possibilities for entertaining with the use of your computer. For instance, you can play games online in between doing your homework. Playing games is relaxing and can actually be addicting so just make sure you keep to your schedules. You can also surf the net, chat with your friends, call your mom free of charge, and download lots of amazing videos, movies and music.
Your computer can give you unlimited hours of entertainment. If you want to hang out with your friends, say after a hard exam week, you can invite them over for a movie marathon. Computer monitors nowadays are comparable to high definition TV monitors, plus speakers for computers have also evolved to such better quality of sound.
You can watch movies that you have downloaded from the internet or you can borrow
DVDs from rental shops. You can also create a movie buddy sort of club wherein you each get a turn to buy or rent out a good movie for scheduled movie nights. Food and beverage costs could be split and shared by everyone. Since you are providing the electricity and it is your computer that everyone else is using, you can opt to not shell out money every time.
Food and drinks need not be expensive anyway. You can just get those microwave popcorn and instant juice packs. If you want to have alcoholic beverages, you can get the six packs at cheaper prices in convenience stores everywhere.
